Emmy Award Winning Kristoff St. John began his career in entertainment very early in his life, first as a child actor, portraying a young Alex Haley in the 1979 ABC miniseries Roots: The Next Generations. From there on he had roles such as Booker Brown on Happy Days, and The Cosby Show. His first major TV role came in 1985 sitcom Charlie & Co., portraying Charlie Richmond Jr.

 

His first major soap role was Adam Marshall on NBC’s Generations. Then came his most famous role that of Neil Winters on The Young and the Restless, playing the character for the next 23 years. He won his first Daytime Emmy for the role in 1992 and his second in 2008.

Back in 2014 when his son committed suicide the actor was never the same. The soap star and ex-wife Mia’s son Julian was found Nov. 23, 2014, at the age of 24 following a lifelong battle with mental illness. He was reportedly found unresponsive in the bathroom of a Long Beach, California, facility.
